The Pre-incubation facility at IIEST-Shibpur stands as a thriving hub for entrepreneurial ventures, bolstered by the proactive Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC). This dynamic cell orchestrates a myriad of activities year-round, fostering an environment conducive to entrepreneurial growth and innovation. Guided by the Ministry of Education’s directives, the Institutions’ Innovation Council (IIC) plays a pivotal role in fortifying and nurturing the entrepreneurial culture within IIESTS.

Moreover, the institution’s various departments, such as Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering, along with specialized schools like Mechatronics & Robotics, VLSI, and Green Energy & Sensor Systems etc. are engaged in continuous and pioneering research endeavors. These academic departments and schools are not only into research works but also serve as platforms for facilitating technology transfer and commercialization of innovative ideas.
